Papers of Charles Franc Goddard [manuscript], 1894-1918.

The collection contains notes on the Ohio Valley and history of the Northwest Territory, on nature interpretation in literature, and on the Emerson-Carlyle correspondence. The collection contains a letter, 1894, George Vosburgh to the New York Examiner regarding Goddard's review of "The life and writings of Henry D. Thoreau" ; a letter, 1909, from Arthur C. Benson thanking him for a letter concerning Thoreau, and Goddard's reply discussing Thoreau's character; and a letter from W. H. Lawton concerning prices for books on the War of 1812; a postcard from Mary G. on the writings of John Hay; and a poem "A day with Frost" by Lawton. The collection also contains a letter from Robert Frost to Goddard, 1917, concerning his poem "My butterfly" together with a photograph of Frost.
